Moving to college just got a whole lot easier with our brand-new Ship Ahead service! We know that packing up for the semester can be stressful, especially for out-of-state students. That’s why we’ve designed a solution that lightens the load and simplifies your journey to campus.

How It Works

Ship Your Essentials

  • Ship items purchased at your hometown retailers or shop your favorite online stores like Amazon, Target, Walmart, or any other retailer.

  • Ship to us instead! No need to cram everything into the car or worry about carrying heavy bags on travel day.

  • Address packages to TaY Storage Solutions when ordering online.

Notify Us of Your Shipment

  • Send an email to hello@taystoragesolutions.com with the following details:

    • Your phone number

    • Student Name

    • Student Phone Number

    • Student Fall Dorm Assignment (if known)

    • Retailer information and carrier/tracking details (if available)

    • Brief description of the item

  • Repeat this for each shipment.

  • If one order has MORE THAN 1 ITEM, please provide a screenshot/printout of your order confirmation showing each item so we can ensure everything is received.

  • We’ll receive and securely store your packages until you arrive on campus.

  • No need to worry about managing deliveries during your busy summer.

Pay Ship Ahead Program Fees

  • Two weeks out from the move-in week set by UNCW, we'll invoice you for the delivery fee and the number of bins you have filled up with your shipped items to date.

  • The invoice will be emailed via our online scheduling and payment system.

  • Pay online with your credit card. 

  • Once payment is received, your delivery date will be scheduled.

  • We’ll bring your pre-shipped items to you CURBSIDE.

  • Arrive at campus with less stress and more space in the car!

Pricing

  • Delivery Fee: $250

  • Storage Fee: $25 per bin filled

  • Please note: We do not accept food shipments to ensure the safety and cleanliness of all stored items.

Shipping Deadlines

  • We accept items throughout the summer, but we recommend shipping packages at least 21 days prior to your on-campus arrival to avoid delays.

How much does Ship Ahead service cost?

$250 delivery fee plus $25 per bin.

Items are removed from shipping boxes to save space, but item packaging is not opened.  Please provide a copy of your order receipt to confirm all items are received.

Can I ship large items requiring a freight truck?

No, we cannot receive freight shipments at this time.

 

What if my items are lost or damaged?

Upon package delivery, we inspect the box for damage. If damage is visible, we photograph the box and promptly notify the Customer. We will open the box and photograph the item. We will not test to see if item is broken.

For damage or loss occurring before items received by TaY Storage Solutions, please contact the carrier or retailer directly.

If you believe your item was damaged or lost after it was in our possession, please file a claim with our office via email at hello@taystoragesolutions.com. Claims must include proof of delivery and value (such as a receipt or invoice). The maximum claim amount is $300.

What if my items arrive after the scheduled on-campus delivery dates?

Late arrivals have two options:

  • Curbside delivery to the residence hall for $35.

  • Pick up items at our storage facility in Wilmington by appointment for $35 per hour.

 

Can off-campus students use the Ship Ahead service?

Yes, with three retrieval options:

  • Curbside delivery to an off-campus house within 2 miles of UNCW for $35.

  • Pick up items at the our storage facility in Wilmington by appointment for $35 per hour.

  • Arrange on-campus pickup during scheduled delivery days by emailing hello@taystoragesolutions.com.

 

What if I don’t pay the Ship Ahead fees before the scheduled delivery dates?

We will not deliver items until fees are paid. If unpaid by the final scheduled delivery date, you must arrange for custom delivery or pickup after payment which is an additional fee.
